The only hair dye my wife will use
My wife has been using Casting hair colour for many years and has tried various shades over that time. She loves how easy it is to use, you just squeeze the tube of colourant into the developer bottle, shake and you’re ready to apply the dye - full instructions are included on the inside of the box. My wife tells me that she uses a tinting brush to get a neat finish around her hairline and roots, and there’s enough dye in the bottle to treat her thick waist length hair. Then she clips her hair on top of her head while the colour develops and the non-drip formula means it doesn’t drip down her face and neck. It only takes 20 minutes, and then you can rinse it out and apply the conditioner, and my wife finds that when her hair is dry it’s looks glossy and feels more sleek and manageable than usual. There are a few things to be aware of: although the box says the dye lasts up to 32 washes, my wife finds it’s much less than that - this is likely because the product is formulated for ‘initial greys’ and she’s got a lot more grey than that, but she’s happy to dye her hair more regularly to maintain her colour as she likes the product in my wife’s experience, the Casting colours are often darker than shown on the box so you might want to do a strand test if you’re new to the brand, before you commit to a whole head Casting appear to have changed the numbers and/or names of their colours recently, so beware.     L'Oreal is my one of my go-to brands for hair dye, and this product did not disappoint. Although the package arrived damaged, the contents remained in good condition. The instructions were easy to follow, and everything needed for application was included.
    The formula had a nice consistency-not too thick or too runny-which made it easy to apply evenly. I also appreciated the moderate scent which did not irritate my eyes or nose.
    On my dark brown hair, the final colour came out a bit darker than shown on the box, but it still looked great. It covered greys effectively and left my hair looking shiny and feeling soft and smooth.
    As a semi-permanent dye, it's designed to last around 28 washes-perfect for having new hair colour for a few months depending on how often you wash your hair. It's been four weeks and the colour is still looking vibrant.

    I use box dye regularly. This is a nice brown shade with a slight hint of red. It's covered my grey will but it has washed out quickly and the grey started to be visible again. I'm happy to use this for my root touch up now regularly though as I find it's not harmful to my hair.

    This is one of the best I’ve used by far! The color turned out beautiful—soft, luminous.
    It’s super easy to follow and use doesn’t smell really strong like some tend to do. Also my hair felt really nourished and soft which I really appreciated cos after using some hair dyes my hair can feel quite dry after but with this one it actually felt more hydrated - very pleased with results!
